SEGA previously released a similar collection for PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2009 called Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (as well as an even earlier PSP/PS2 version in 2006), which contained 48 classics including Golden Axe, Ecco the Dolphin and most of the Genesis/Mega Drive era Sonic the Hedgehog games. SEGA will also ensure the Steam version has parity with the console version starting May 29. Those who preorder the physical edition will get a double-sided Golden Axe/Streets of Rage poster. Play When asked about whether a Nintendo Switch version was being considered and, if not, why there are no plans, a SEGA representative told IGN "SEGA is focused on the launch of SMDC/SGC on Playstation 4 and Xbox One and the update to the PC version."
